5 Shows with Terrible Fan Art (Part 5)

Fan art is like a double-edged sword. There are those who take their time and come out with a masterpiece, and then there are those who shit out an MS Paint "masterpiece" in 5 seconds. Either way, here are some of the worst cases of this.

#1 Homestar Runner
I know what you're thinking, yes it is a web series that needs a comeback and not an actual TV show, but this was one of the first things I ever watched when I first got internet at my house. As such, it has a special place in my heart. The Brothers Chaps know that their fanbase is huge considering there's a fan art section on their website. Sure it doesn't update anymore, but the fan art is still going strong.

 Its so cute!
Whether its fanmade Halloween costumes for the characters to wear or just them hanging out, its good to know the fans still care about the citizens of Free Country, USA.

HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN! This is the kind of art that Strong Bad would mock like he did with fan costumes. Something like...
"Hey, why are Strong Mad's arms so low?"
or my favorite line
"Yeah you wish Marzipan had legs like that! Or... legs."

5 Shows with Terrible Fan Art (Part 4)

Fan art is like a double-edged sword. There are those who take their time and come out with a masterpiece, and then there are those who shit out an MS Paint "masterpiece" in 5 seconds. Either way, here are some of the worst cases of this.

#2 Wander Over Yonder
I gotta admit, it feels great to be watching a new show by Craig McCracken. I've followed both him and his wife on dA for quite some time now (FYI, this was before the whole MLP stuff happened). And this show doesn't disappoint. Especially the fan art.

Hell, the second one could be mistaken for actual animation cells from one of the crew members!

THESE, however, do not! Is that supposed to be Wander or Winnie the Pooh? And since when does Wander travel by giant star? Last time I checked it was a bubble. Wander isn't Kirby! Also, guess what the puzzle piece on the pony must represent... (Hint: It rhymes with shmaudism)

5 Shows with Terrible Fan Art (Part 3)

Fan art is like a double-edged sword. There are those who take their time and come out with a masterpiece, and then there are those who shit out an MS Paint "masterpiece" in 5 seconds. Either way, here are some of the worst cases of this.

#3 Kick Buttowski
I was hyped for this show when Disney XD was announced. You already know from the MysticArk review I started the first dA group dedicated to the suburban daredevil, so I've seen everything from masterpieces to master-pieces-of-shit.

Probably my favorites from the group, are the "Kick grown up/Kick as a teenager" plots. There's a certain charm to pictures like these. As if we're looking into what happens after the show ended.

Then we get the majority of my group. The ones who submit more than I can keep up with. Even then its all a bunch of off-model, MS Paint junk. Enter at your own risk. How can it get any worse? Just you wait...

5 Shows with Terrible Fan Art (Part 2)

Fan art is like a double-edged sword. There are those who take their time and come out with a masterpiece, and then there are those who shit out an MS Paint "masterpiece" in 5 seconds. Either way, here are some of the worst cases of this.

#4 Regular Show
Regular Show is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. If I had to explain it to someone, I'd call it one big tribute to everything the 80s had to offer. From cheesy cop shows, Laserdiscs, and even obscure sleeper hits like UHF, this show has it all. Now with all this nostalgia from 30 years ago, it'll mostly go over kids heads, so fan art for Regular Show will be mostly be done by young adults with reasonable art skills, right?

You bet your sweet ass it does! When its good, its REALLY good! But when its bad...
ITS REALLY, REALLY BAD!
I mean did these people even see the show? Last time I checked, Mordecai didn't have a beak that looked like a pair of scissors! And is that supposed to be CJ? I'm pretty sure she didn't have a torso the shape of a wet noodle! And the less said about poor Thomas the better. At least Clarence doesn't look that bad...
But we're not done yet. We got 3 more shows to cover. Hang on to your butts...

5 Shows with Terrible Fan Art (Part 1)

Fan art is like a double-edged sword. There are those who take their time and come out with a masterpiece, and then there are those who shit out an MS Paint "masterpiece" in 5 seconds. Either way, here are some of the worst cases of this.

#5 The Amazing World of Gumball
I've said this before in the past, TAWoG is visual pornography. Incorporating every style of animation into one program is very risky, but they managed to pull it off brilliantly! Now when it comes to fan art there are two categories you can put them in.
You get the cartoony, stylized and all-around beautiful fan art.

Then you get the lazy, uninspired, and effortless Gumball recolors. Bonus points if they just took a screenshot from an episode and colored over it.
You also get whatever the fuck this is...

Its really sad to see such a visually appealing show like Gumball get some of the worst, lazy, and uninspired fan art out there. But this is only the first show to get terrible fan art. There's more to come...
